Knights of Khaine

Knights of Khaine
Progenitor: Ultramarines
Founding: Lost Legion Chapter
Homeworld: Carnuntum
Fortress Monastary: Castellem
Colours: Scarlet with Purple Trim
Specialty: Anti-Chaos, Guerilla
Battlecry: "For War"

The Knights of Khaine were first sighted late M37, engaged in battle against the Slaaneshii Marines of the Emperor's Children. The only recovered bodies geneseed was a genetic match to that of the Sons of Gulliman.

Due to their nature as worshipers of an Eldar God, they have been declared Excommunicate Traitoris, despite the fact that they almost exclusively fight Chaos, and rarely engage Imperial forces.

When they do engage Imperial forces, they scavenge armor and weapons from the fallen, to replenish their own supplies, meaning they they do have more modern suits of armor, but those suits are reserved for their veterans, who are also the only warriors allowed to carry the names of aspects warriors, with veteran sergeants being called Exarchs, Sternguard Veterans being Dire Avengers, and Vanguard Veterans being Howling Banshee.

Their standard suits of armor at made from thick layers of the psychoplastic Wraithbone, and are kept in repair by the chapters TechSingers, a group of psyker Techmarines, who keep the armor and weapons of the chapter in good repair, though they have even greater mysticism than even standard Techmarines, as all knowledge has been passed down amongst the chapter itself for millennia.

Due to the nature of their Homeworld, and the near constant intermingling of their recruits and the Eldar, they tend to have more psykers, and the psykers they have tend to be stronger. This is not a flaw in their geneseed, but rather a mutation of their human stock itself. Due to this, they have even more rigid and rigorous testing and screaming processes, to be sure of of no chaos taint.

They first started as a lost chapter of the Ultramarines, being sent to deal with an eldar incursion late during the Great Crusade, but becoming stranded due to a warpstorm, which sent a massive daemonic incursion, one of the first seen by these marines, to this world. The Eldar and the marines teamed up, and managed to drive off the chaos forces, at the cost of a large portion of the Marines, and their atheism.

Seeing an Avatar of Khaine, the Eldar God of War, slaughter soldiers of Slaanesh, soldiers bearing the heraldry of the Emperor's Children, these marines knelt, and pledged allegiance to Khaine, and dubbed themselves the Knights of Khaine, risk g, and declaring war on the forces of Chaos, and the forces of Slaanesh especially, with a special hatred for the Emperors Children.

Knights of Khorne

In the case that some of the Marines defect, and fall to chaos, they become members of the Knights of Khorne, a khornate warband, who see Khaine as a pussy.

I'm assuming more details will definitely be added to this in future. Such as a chapter master and any specialist units or wargear. Have you thought about the idea of an Infinity Circuit type structure for the marines? Astartes Wraiths could be interesting.

I'm also just thinking, maybe naming the veteran squads directly after Eldar squads is kinda... unoriginal... just imo.

I got to agree with Meros there... especially calling them Banshees is kinda off.

That's not our point. Having them named after existing Eldar units just makes them seem like they're a cheap imitation of a Craftworld. They need to he something unique to the chapter.

The chapter sees it as an honor to be allowed to use the names of the aspects.

Don't think about this in terms of a canonical and in-universe reasoning: they aren't Eldar, nor Craftworlders, nor Aspect Warriors. They are Space Marines - that I have no problem with having an Eldar influence - but they are different in many respects, and two units (for example, Sternguard and Dire Avengers) should be named differently.
