Role Play Guidelines
Here are the regs for rps, courtesy of the illustrious Commisar Sanders:
1. For every game, there are 2 threads. First the recruitment thread, signed as (Recruitment) before the title of the game. This is where the Game Master (GW) writes the setting and maybe some points where the story goes (no spoilers). He also announces how long the recruitment phase will go and how many players he needs max. And off course, which race, class, .... will be involved. Then everybody can sign in, create and describe their characters. And then there is the Action-Thread. Marked as (Action) before the title. Only active players are allowed to post here. And only in their playable character (IC). Everything else (OOC) is posted in the Recruitment thread of the game. Here are no double-postings allowed, except for the GM.
2. No overpowering/God-mode. That means, that you shouldn`t kill the other players. And that you have no god-like powers like summoning an army of demons or calling an exterminatus or stuff.
3. Details are great, but can get boring quickly. Try to keep your posts focused on the situation. - story may need a block of text, although space it out a bit.
4. Misspelling is ok, but please, try to keep it readable or edit if needed.
5. Try to give your character personality and don`t equip him with a large amount of weapons and stuff, that makes him immortal. Stay realistic. Add a weakness, allow him to get wounded. Nobody likes the unbreakable superhero.
- also, try to keep stereotypes to a minimum
6. Only the GM plays non-playable-characters. Nobody else. - Up for debate/subjective.
7. No power-play. Means, that you shouldn`t make moves for other players in a situation. You can save them or stuff like that, but you shouldn`t start to take their roles too and make moves with them in your post - unless they let you, or have told you to.
8. The GM decides how long a game lasts. He can also add a time-limit for postings and answers (like 1 post per day). If you don`t post in time, he can decide to just take you further down the way, or simply kill you in the story. Nobody likes placeholders. - yes... but whether they're doing this should be put in the recruitment section from the beginning. (optional)
Amendment 1: GM's must explicitly explain any action that effects another player as it is occurring.

Re: Role Play Guidelines
The death of player controlled NPCs - otherwise known as 'Scrubs' - is to be determined by the controlling player as opposed to the attacker simply stating 'they die'. GM's override this rule.

Re: Role Play Guidelines
I think it all sums up to the one single golden Rule:
Your GM is god.
don't anger your god!

Re: Role Play Guidelines
I think it the rules should be determined by the creator of the rp. i cant see global rules working for all the rp ideas.
